He has gone on to highlight the heightened inflow of capital from the institutional investors into the cryptocurrency market. He has noted such recent cryptocurrency investments, as Rockefeller’s VC arm, a Goldman Sachs executive, and Soros Fund Management.

Mr. Kelly added that the increase in institutionalized investments can eventually lead to the drop in the volatility of cryptocurrencies. This could eventually make them easier to use as actual currencies.

Will crypto volume spike?

As per Mr. Kelly, the parabolic run and the drop in transactions have caused the market’s poor performance in the past. He has noted that the Bitcoin is to reach $250,000 by 2022, or $25,000 by 2018. If this is the case, the transaction volume is set to increase:

“If the number of transactions catch up a bit, then I do think we’ve bottomed here and I do think we’ve got a sustainable bull run ahead of us.”

In the meantime, this week crypto hedge fund Pantera Capital has predicted that Bitcoin is seen skyrocketing $20,000 by the end of this year.
