Solana is back in the spotlight. Right now, SOL is trading near $123. It has been moving up and down, but it is holding strong above $120. If you are comparing major blockchains, you can read our full Solana vs Ethereum analysis. The big question for the rest of 2026 is simple: can SOL hit $140, or will it get stuck?
Key Price Levels to Watch
The $140 level is the main wall. If SOL breaks above it, the next stops are $160 and $180. On the downside, $120 is the first support. A deeper floor sits near $100. As long as SOL stays above $120, the long-term picture still looks strong.
Prediction Markets vs. Wall Street Sentiment
Prediction markets show what real traders are thinking. On Polymarket, traders give Solana a 65% chance of hitting $140 before the end of 2026. The odds of reaching $160 drop to 33%. Hitting $180 has a 20% chance. Reaching $200 drops to just 12%.

The market is clearly bullish on $140. But the odds drop fast after that. Only 10% think SOL hits $220, and just 3% think it reaches $300.
You can see the full list of price targets in the screenshot below, which shows how quickly the odds fall as the price target goes up.

Author’s Take
The 65% chance of hitting $140 tells me traders believe in this target. But the drop-off after that is steep. Only 12% see $200 this year. That tells me the market expects a good year, but not a massive one. If SOL can close above $125 with strong volume, the path to $140 opens up. If it fails, expect a slide back to $110. I think the year-end target is $140 to $160.
Why the Fundamental Story Looks Strong
Solana’s network is on fire. It processed a record 5.2 billion non-vote transactions in August 2026. Stablecoin volume on Solana surpassed $5 trillion this year. The network’s DEXs logged 208 million trades in a single week, beating the NYSE’s 190 million for the first time ever.
Big money is also flowing in. U.S. spot Solana ETFs crossed $1 billion in cumulative inflows, led by Bitwise’s staking fund. The SEC has cut altcoin ETF approval timelines to just 75 days, which should bring even more institutional money. The Solana Foundation also appointed former Binance and Polygon executives to drive institutional adoption.

Price Prediction for End of 2026
If SOL breaks $125 and holds, $140 is very realistic by December. Reaching $160 would need a much stronger market-wide rally. Standard Chartered has cut its end-2026 target to $250, which is far more bullish than prediction markets suggest. If SOL stays below $120, the outlook turns bearish. For now, the bulls have momentum, but the $140 wall remains the biggest test.
