July 21, 2021, | AtoZ Markets – Sports sponsorships are showing no signs of slowing down within the trading industry as Swissquote became the latest to sign a sponsorship deal with ZSC Lions, a professional ice hockey team located in Zürich, Switzerland.
Swissquote sponsors ZSC Lions to increase brand popularity
According to Wednesday’s announcement, Swissquote, a Switzerland-based online trading platform, will become the official sponsor of the Zürcher Schlittschuh Club Lions. Swissquote ZSC Lions sponsorship will kick off from the 2021-2022 gaming season onwards.
In order to further strengthen brand awareness in the Zurich area, the Swiss online trading platform is committed to the Lions for the next two seasons. As the main sponsor, Swissquote will have a logo presence on the official match jerseys of the ZSC Lions and will promote its brand on online and offline advertising platforms.
Commenting on the sponsorship, the CSO of Swissquote Jan De Schepper said:
“We are delighted to be working with the ZSC Lions, one of the most popular and ambitious ice hockey clubs in Switzerland. Increasing our brand popularity and anchoring our important Zurich location locally are essential for us. We are convinced that we can achieve both of these goals with this partnership. “
Roger Gemperle, CMO ZSC Lions added: “We are very proud to include Swissquote in our sponsor family. In Swissquote, we have found a reliable partner who shares the same values as we do.”
Brokerages and sports sponsorship
Along with the US and Canada, ice hockey is also a very popular sport in Switzerland, and its national league stands among the top three domestic services around the world.
Swissquote announced this sponsorship deal when other retail brokerages inked promotional deals with major football clubs across Europe. AtoZMarkets earlier reported on eToro signing a three-year deal to become a major sponsor of Rugby Australia.
Other notable brokerage deals with sports clubs include CMC Markets’ deal with Rugby Union team in New Zealand, IG’s deal with England’s cricket teams, and CFI Financial Group sponsoring Jordan’s basketball team.
Meanwhile, Swisquote’s financials are touching new records. The trading platform reported a record net revenue of CHF 317.3 million in 2020 and launched a digital banking app recently.
