Elizabeth Stark co-founded Lightning Labs in 2016. The company has been responsible for the creation of Lightning Network; a two-layer tool through which Bitcoin scalability issues can be addressed.

Stark is also an educator and lecturer in the field of Computer Science at Yale University.
