On the 9th of February 11, 2015 the Malta Financial Services Authority (“MFSA”) made a public notice that the Swiss Forex giant Swissquote’s Maltese branch has applied surrender of its Category 3 Investment Services Licence.
The maltese watchdog made it clear that the Swissquote Malta's surrender of license is entirely voluntary based on company’s decision and does not arise as a result of any regulatory action taken by the MFSA.
The MFSA accepted the surrender of the Company’s Category 3 Investment Services License with effect from 9 February 2015.



As Category 3 Investment Services License holding entirety, Swissquote Malta was authorised to provide the following Investment Services in Malta:
Reception and Transmission of Orders |
Execution of orders |
Dealing on own account |
for Retail Clients |
||
for Professional Clients (including collective investment schemes) |
||
for Eligible Counter-parties |
