Twitter suspended a number of major crypto-related accounts, including some of the industry’s biggest influencers.
March 10, 2021 | AtoZ Markets – According to a March 10 tweet by Peter McCormack, a popular cryptocurrency podcaster based in the United Kingdom, Twitter has recently suspended at least six crypto-related accounts.
The profiles of some of the most prominent crypto figures on Twitter with over 300,000 followers like BTC stock-to-flow model creator PlanB, Bitcoin on-chain analyst Willy Woo, as well as crypto enthusiast TheCryptoDog.
Twitter has also suspended other industry-related accounts like TheMoon, MMCrypto, Koroush AK, and WSBChairman, who claims that the account is not associated with Reddit’s r/WallStreetBets community.
Twitter Lifts Suspension of Willy Woo and PlanB Accounts
At the time of writing, however, five of the listed accounts remain unavailable, while the suspension on Willy Woo and PlanB’s accounts appear to have been lifted.
Despite a brief suspension of PlanB, Twitter did not take down some of the prominent crypto influencer’s impersonators. Twitter user Ankeborgare noted that some fake PlanB accounts like 100TrillionUSDT and 100TrillionUSDD were not suspended on Twitter as part of the latest series of suspensions.
On March 8, Twitter Support stated that the platform has been experiencing a “rise in cases” of mistaken account suspensions.
Recall that in November, Facebook users complained about blocking information related to Bitcoin.
Prior to that, crypto analysts faced similar problems on the YouTube platform.
