July 8, AtoZForex – The Securities and Futures commission (SFC) is a Hong Kong’s financial market regulator. The objective of the independent statutory body is to monitor Hong Kong’s domestic financial markets. Earlier this week, the Hong Kong watchdog has strengthened its warning list with the addition of another unlicensed entity. CVC Groups Private Capital / CVC Ltd is the latest update of the blacklist of SFC.
SFC warning against CVC Groups Private Capital
CVC Ltd, also known as CVC Groups Private Capital, claims its address to be registered in Hong Kong. The regulator states in an official statement that the CVC Groups Private Capital provides a false address, as the firm is not found by the address, indicated on their official website. Beware of the Hong Kong regulator's remarks that the unlicensed entities often use names similar to legitimate companies to confuse investors. Hence, this unlicensed firm should not be confused with CVC Capital Partners, a private equity and investment advisory firm.
The SFC warning against CVC Groups Private Capital, was purportedly operated through www.cvcgroups.com. In an attempt to access the unauthorised website and reach out to CVC Groups Private Capital, it appears that the website is currently not functioning anymore. As the website has become inaccessible, and the below server error message pops up.
Recent SFC regulatory activities
There was another warning from SFC on the 6th of July, as SFC warning against CVC Groups Private Capital was published, Arthur-Sera broker also got red flagged for soliciting to the Hong Kong-based investors, without any authorization to do so. The regulator also notes that the company’s Hong Kong address is incomplete.
As a part of its regulatory activities, Hong Kong main regulator issued the warnings against FXUM (Union Markets Limited) and Momentum earlier this year, on 15th of June. Even earlier, on the 9th of May, and Futures Commission in Hong Kong red flagged one more unlicensed broker FX Protrade.
