Evidently, the number of open accounts at the now non-existent Alpari US and UK branches, were excluded.

One of the underlying reasonings for achieving the one million open accounts goal can be clarified by assessing how the firm has been doing in the Russian market. According to a recent industry survey of Interfax, the Russian leading research firm, Alpari topped the number one ranking in having the most active clients in their threshold, reportedly this figure was registered at 120,000 traders. Although, this figure may explain about a fourth of the total open accounts, the remaining statistics are not provided by Alpari.
