In the latest news, Google to ban Chrome Mining Browser Extensions. According to some of the online reports, Google has moved to limit the extensions die to the fact that the majority of mining extensions submitted to the Chrome Web Store did not meet the requirements of its usage policy.

3 April, AtoZForex Google has made a decision to restrict cryptocurrency mining browser extensions from its Chrome store. The US Internet giant has informed the public about its decision this Monday, as it has also added that in July it will commence removing existing browser extensions that facilitate mining.

In relation to this news, it is worth to note that other Blockchain-related extensions can still be used. Google has earlier allowed Chrome mining extensions, considering the condition that they were dedicated to mining. They also needed to explicitly inform users of their purpose. However, that policy was not sufficient to sort out the non-compliant addons.

Some of the forums from the Chromium Projects state that developers have been expressing concerns about mining extensions since last year’s fall.

According to some of the online reports, Google has moved to limit the extensions die to the fact that the majority of mining extensions submitted to the Chrome Web Store did not meet the requirements of its usage policy.

Google Crypto Ad Limitations

Google's extensions platform product manager, James Wagner, has stated:

"The key to maintaining a healthy extensions ecosystem is to keep the platform open and flexible. This empowers our developers to build creative and innovative customizations for Chrome browser users

This is why we chose to defer banning extensions with cryptomining scripts until it became clear that the vast majority of mining extensions submitted for review failed to comply with our single purpose policy or were malicious."

The mining extension limit emerges following the Google’s announcement about its plans to restrict cryptocurrency related advertisements on its plarforms.

In its announcement, Google has clarified that the advertisement ban will be on Binary options, Cryptocurrencies and related content like initial coin offerings (ICOs), cryptocurrency exchanges, cryptocurrency trading advice and cryptocurrency wallets. However, it will not be limited to this list, since Google will keep on monitoring the markets for more “Cryptocurrency related content and ads”.
