March 1, 2021 | AtoZ Markets – Google Finance has added the prices of cryptocurrencies to the domain finance.google.com. The section, titled "Crypto", now appears in the "Compare Markets" category alongside conventional stock and currency markets.
The section offers key information on the prices of various cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
The cryptocurrency market attracted widespread attention over the past year, as institutional investors and corporations began investing in the asset class. Their participation helped launch the cryptocurrency market capitalization to more than $1 trillion in January. Cryptocurrency market capitalization would eventually peak at $1.7 trillion in February before experiencing a pullback. At current values, the digital asset class is worth more than $1.4 trillion.
Both adoption by individuals and institutional interest grew rapidly in the last three months. And with large companies like Tesla and MasterCard actively adopting cryptocurrencies, the need for clearer regulations is growing , according to US SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce.
Calls for clearer guidance on digital assets are likely to grow louder as the bull market heats up. Meanwhile, says Peirce, the new Biden administration may bring a fresh look at the regulatory side.
