GAIN Capital Galvan Research acquisition means competition is on


galvan_logoGAIN Capital Holdings, Inc. GCAP, +0.22% today announced that it has concluded the acquisition of Galvan Research, the UK's leading Contract For Difference (CFD) advisory business.

In a deal that dragged on for over a year, Gain capital has announced the conclusion of its acquisition of Galvan research. In July 2014, a preliminary purchase price of $9.7 million in cash was settled as part payment for the deal with a $6.9 million installment pledge, totaling $16.6 million payable over a three year period subject to the achievement of specific financial and customer targets.

This acquisition promises to greatly complement GCH’s activities as the firm aims at penetrating deeper into the into the lucrative UK online trading market in addition to GCH's recent purchase of UK-based City Index for $118 million back in October.
