The vice president of the exchange did not clarify the exact date of migration and how to switch to Huobi Global. Also, on the official Huobi website (huobi.com), there is no news about the merger of Huobi Global with Huobi Russia at the time of writing. There is also no announcement on the Huobi Russia Twitter page.
Moreover, the crypto exchange has also asked Huobi Russia users to contact the site administration via the Gmail address and withdraw their funds. Whether the address is genuine remains unknown.
“Users who still have assets on Huobi Russia, please contact us by email, provide your UID and registered email address or mobile phone number, and our staff will assist you with the withdrawal of funds.”
AtoZ Markets has reached out to Huobi Global for comments, but have not received a response yet.
Recall that the global provider of financial services in the field of digital assets launched the Russian-language version of its website in the second half of 2018, at the same time it was planning to open an office in Russia.
For the first time, Huobi Global officially announced plans to expand activities in Russia back in August 2020. At the time, Huobi Global Markets Vice President Siyara San said that Huobi Global "will carefully consider the issue of user migration from Huobi Russia to Huobi Global with a simple one-click migration option ...".
And back in September this year, Huobi Global announced the launch of its own mobile app, designed specifically for one of the most neglected regions of the cryptocurrency world: Russia.
