It seems like a season of executive recruitment and reshuffles in Bank of America Merrill Lynch, as Dean Tonkin, formerly a managing director in the bank up until his recent promotion to Head of Futures, and FX Prime Brokerage, as reported by FXweek. Interestingly, this news just hit a few days right after the major player on the financial market has terminated its dealings with a top Indiana Adviser with $1.3B in AUM.
Along with this news, it was also reported that the bank had just recruited ex Goldman Sachs executive Michael Wise as its newest Vice Chairman of Global Equity Capital Markets.
Relating back to the appointment of Dean Tonkin, he already boasts of vast experience in the financial industry, ranging from executive experience working in Barclays as its head of G10 cash trading as well as Asia-Pacific (APAC) and head of FX STIRT – Americas before joining Merrill Lynch in 2012 and now at the peak of his career so far as Merrill Lynch appoints new head of FX Prime Brokerage.

As the new Head of Futures, and FX Prime Brokerage, Mr. Tonkin needs to report directly to the co-heads of FX trading, which are the respective Mr. Chris Bae and Mr. Tom Gillie.
